The River Arts District of Asheville

One of the many advantages to living at Lake Keowee is having some amazing cities within an hour drive or so. Those who call The Reserve at Lake Keowee or The Cliffs Communities home are known to frequent Asheville, North Carolina. Asheville is known for many things – being a foodie’s paradise, Biltmore Estate but also for the art! Thousands of wonderful artists live in this Blue Ridge Mountain region and there are hundreds of art galleries and studios to browse through.
In West Asheville, there is a section known as the River Arts District and here is something for all price ranges. With over 180 artists in 25 buildings, you have variety right at your fingertips as far as selection goes. You can watch artists create their masterpiece in clay and even join a workshop at The Village Potters! Or perhaps you prefer more of the fine art so take a stroll down to the Jonas Gerard Fine Art studio/gallery. Maybe even take a tour of the woodworker’s shop to see how Brian Boggs creates his designer pieces of furniture. So many options!
You are sure to lose track of time but no fear because this area is also home to some fantastic restaurants! With names like The White Duck Taco and Clingman Café, you know you are in for a treat. So stop by for a soak up some of the Asheville culture in the River Arts District of West Asheville.
