7/19-22 Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands The Craft Fair, held in the Civic Center in downtown Asheville, has been an eagerly anticipated event in the mountains since 1948. 7/26-29 Bele Chere The largest free outdoor street festival in the Southeast, this massive celebration takes over downtown Asheville the last weekend in July. 7/27-29 Quarter Horse Show at the Garrison Arena Come watch the American Quarter Horse in action. On Friday, competitors will work cattle in events such as cutting and reining, and close out the day with speed events.
