Everyone has their own story of where they dream of living or retiring someday . . . well, here’s mine and it may be familiar to you! Living in Ohio at the time and caught up in the fast paced corporate world, my husband and I started to do some soul searching on what we were doing with our lives. Time seemed to be ticking faster and faster with each day and our priorities somehow had vanished right before our very eyes! It was time to take charge of our lives once again and focus on what was truly important.

In 2002, we decided to start the process of looking for property to invest in for our future retirement. We sat down and created a list of things we would like to have – warmer weather, lakes, mountains, and, of course, golf for my husband. We then ventured out to find our dream location. After looking all throughout the Southeast for over two years, we finally uncovered the best kept secret – Upstate South Carolina and, specifically, Lake Keowee! Not only did we buy our “retirement” home site but we decided to move right away and build our new home in The Reserve at Lake Keowee.

Not being able to retire quite yet, my husband moved his business to the area and I decided to utilize my 16 successful years in sales/customer service to now help others discover what my husband and I found – a true “home” in the Upstate. Since 2005, I have been showing our little secret to many folks that have the same dream in mind and, to be quite honest, with Lake Keowee’s unspoiled beauty and charm, the resort properties here show themselves.

Because my husband and I have been through this life-changing event ourselves, I would love to share our “lessons learned” of our journey with you.
