2022 Independence Day Events

This year’s Independence Day is back in full swing!  Throughout Lake Keowee, Western NC Mountains, and the greater Upstate area, area celebrations are outdoing themselves, giving all of us plenty of options to please the whole family!  Narrowing down the list, we’re featuring our favorite Top 3 2022 July 4th celebrations to attend.  Let’s get our nation’s 246th birthday party started!

1: The Freedom Blast at Greer City Park

The City of Greer will be hosting “Freedom Blast” at the Greer City Park on Saturday, June 25th from 6 to 10:30pm.  This event was founded as a one-day festival to celebrate the brave men and women that made our freedom possible. Want to see some skydiving? Check. How about some live music? Check.  A rib eating contest?  Why not!  And of course, fireworks – double check! There will be many food trucks for you and your group to select whichever food you are craving for the day.  For more information and details, such as the schedule of events, please click here.

2: July 4th Party at the Pool! In Travelers Rest

One fun way to celebrate the day is the July 4th Party at the Pool by Restaurant 17 at Hotel Domestique, located in Travelers Rest, near where Scenic Highway 11 and Hwy 25 intersect.  From 12 to 6pm, you can enjoy a luxurious day by Hotel Domestique’s pool!  The event’s ticket includes all-you-can-eat BBQ so get ready to enjoy America’s Independence by enjoying good food and a great view in the sunshine!  For more information or to purchase your tickets, click here.

3: Asheville’s Pack Square Park Celebrations

Perhaps are drive to Asheville for their celebration of Independence Day?  Starting at 6:30pm on July 4th at Pack Square Park, there will be music for you to enjoy with your picnic supper or you can order takeout from a surrounding downtown restaurant! Don’t forget to bring a chair or blanket to relax and enjoy the fireworks that start at 9:30pm.  Further South, you can enjoy fireworks at Lake Julian Park beginning at dark (sometime between 9 and 9:30pm).  If this is your spot, once again a reminder to bring your lawn chair or blanket to find your spot along the lake.

4: Greenville’s Unity Park Opening Celebrations

The city of Greenville is bringing back their fireworks display at Unity Park.  Celebrating the opening of the new 60 acre park as well, the event will run 6 – 10pm with fireworks starting at 9:45 pm.  This event is free and attendees are encouraged to come early with a blanket and dinner/snacks and stake your spot to watch the amazing light show overhead. And while we don’t have any specific events listed, for those living near Lake Keowee or Lake Hartwell, local communities and marinas will also display fireworks over the lake.  We encourage local residents to check with nearby parks & marinas to see if they’ll be events near them.  No matter how you celebrate, we hope you have a fun and safe July 4th!
