“A Vanberbilt House Party – The Gilded Age” Clothing Exhibit On Display!

A favorite attraction that is nationally acclaimed yet local is the esteemed Biltmore Estate of Asheville, North Carolina. Perfect in every season and a convenient location for all Lake Keowee and Upstate residents, this grand home and estate have much to offer.
Biltmore, the largest privately-owned home in the US, was envisioned and built by George Vanderbilt. For extra insight into what life was during the days of George and his wife, Edith, schedule a tour of the home for the special exhibition “A Vanberbilt House Party – The Gilded Age”! Running from February 8th until May 27th, this costume display within the impressive rooms of the home let you imagine what it would be like as an honored guest at one of their house parties around the turn-of-the-century. Audio storytelling paints the scene for the clothing before your eyes. The clothes on display were created by Oscar-winning costume designer John Bright. He was inspired by family photos and portraits within the Biltmore collection.
