“Norman Rockwell’s Home for the Holidays” Exhibit

Right here in the midst of the holidays, we have the opportunity to view some of the classic pieces of artwork by Norman Rockwell. The Upcountry History Museum with Furman University have partnered with the Norman Rockwell Museum of Massachusetts to bring the exhibit “Norman Rockwell’s Home for the Holidays”! Rockwell is considered one of America’s premiere 20th century illustrators and this collection includes over 40 of the most applauded and winsome holiday pieces by the artist.
Many are familiar with Rockwell’s 47 years of work with “The Saturday Evening Post”, where he was particularly praised for his holiday covers. Images of Christmas carolers, family meals, and Santa’s rosy red cheeks fill the walls during this festive exhibit but the illustrations are not the only items on display. Part of the collection includes photographs of family members, friends, and even strangers that he used as models and inspiration.
On display in Greenville until January 29th, this first-rate exhibit of Americana art is not to be missed!
