Tamassee DAR School’s BBQ Cookoff

Looking for a way to get a great meal plus the added bonus of knowing you are helping a great cause?  Then put the Tamassee DAR School’s BBQ Cookoff for November 6th on your calendar!  There will be several BBQ contestants hoping to win the bragging rights of first place for 2021.  Lunch plates will be available for $10 per plate plus lots of fun activities throughout the day, including live music, horseback rides, and much more!

The Tamassee DAR School is a private, non-profit organization that offers many programs to local children and families. Although officially opened in 1919 by the Daughters of the American Revolution to bring education to remove areas of the Appalachians, the school now goes beyond basic education to trauma support, and community growth for kids and families.  With a goal of growing children into healthy, confident members of the community, the school welcomes volunteers to help with their various local missions. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities open right now for helping hands.  Tamassee also welcomes donations which you can do on their website.
