A Lake Keowee Sanctuary in a Natural Setting (Plus, A Fisherman’s Paradise!)

Lake Keowee, South Carolina, is a very popular spot for fishing.  This unique reservoir covers over 18,000 acres here in the Upstate and the dominant species of the lake is the spotted bass.  This bass population feeds on primarily threadfin shad but also some blueback herring as well.

For anyone who has been to this lake, you know that the water is beautifully clear!  Visibility is typically between six to 8 feet but at times, can be higher especially towards the northern end of the lake due to the water movement between Lake Jocassee and Keowee.

Currently, we are in the pre-spawn bite time (roughly March to April), and is a wonderful time to fish on this lake.

Just imagine, waking up to not only seeing the wonder and beauty of this lake but having the access to fish and boat at your convenience.

One particular home offers you a private, gated estate within The Cliffs at Keowee Vineyards with over 1,000 feet of lake shoreline!  This home is 109 Wood Sorrell Way.  Set on over 10 acres, with custom-designed trails meandering through the woodland, this single-level residence is perfect for a sanctuary of peace in a natural setting.  Also to the delight of any angler (or particularly, their spouse!) is the dedicated fish cleaning station, pictured below.  Enjoy your catch of the day without subjecting those in the home to any unpleasant odors.

This home and location truly make for a fisherman’s paradise!  (In truth, most anyone’s idea of paradise!)
